It's been good. (Gratis)

Installation, participatory performance
2025

It’s been good. (Gratis) is a performative installation that showcases a variety of objects collected by the artist, which were purchased in Zurich, her hometown of Hong Kong, and various other locations. During her two years in Zurich, she made two trips back to Hong Kong, returning each time with her suitcases filled with the flavours and memories of her hometown. Additionally, she received five packages from loved ones through the Hong Kong Post Office. The artist now possesses significantly more items than when she initially arrived. This artwork serves as a decluttering ritual, prompting the artist to reassess which items are irreplaceable yet still small enough to fit into the three suitcases from another installation in the room, Current Priorities (2025-). For the remaining items, the artist embraces the social phenomenon of free-giving, inviting audiences to take these objects and incorporate them into their lives, contributing to the ongoing journey of embracing impermanence.
